Why India saw 39 lakh avoidable deaths in last 12 years

Among unnatural accidents list road mishaps are the largest killer, claiming 15 lakh lives between 2004-15. Drowning is the second-largest killer-3 lakh deaths in the same period. While road and rail, accidents are the chunk of avoidable deaths, incidents involving explosions, house collapse, mostly as a result of regulatory lapses at factories and in construction.
