3 Kashmiris, including Afzal Naik, was selling dry fruits in the city when 4 persons clad in ‘saffron-kurtas’ arrived at the spot and started thrashing Naik and two others with sticks. The attackers also hurled abuses at the victims and demanded their identity cards. Some passersby intervened and rescued the victims. One of the attackers was later arrested.
